About Us

Why two seasons

Named after founder Sharon Jenkinson’s twin daughters, Summer and Autumn, Two Seasons reflects the ever-changing, personal journey of growth we all go through. Just as no two seasons are the same, every individual’s path is unique, and our goal is to honour that process with patience, compassion, and care.

Meet Sharon Jenkinson

Founder, Facilitator & Horsewoman

Sharon brings many years of hands-on equine experience to the heart of Two Seasons Equine Assisted Learning. Originally from England, she is a British Horse Society Accredited Instructor (BHSAI) with a background in competitive showjumping, training, and breeding, especially Irish Sport Horses and Irish Draughts.

Her lifelong passion lies not only in working with horses but in truly understanding how they think and communicate. Sharon’s philosophy is simple: connection, not control. She honours the horse’s language and uses this same respectful, relational approach when working with people.

Lived Insight Meets Professional Practice

After moving to Western Australia in 2009, Sharon raised neurodivergent twin daughters and experienced first-hand the calming, regulating effect horses had on their wellbeing. This became the inspiration for Two Seasons; a space where others, too, could find emotional safety and connection through horses.

Sharon is a certified Equine Assisted Wellbeing Practitioner through the Equine Assisted Wellbeing Institute (Felicity Rideout). Her practice is shaped by trauma-informed and neurodivergent-aware principles and supported by ongoing professional learning, including:

  • Managing Personal Stressors
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Safety
  • Working with Diverse People
  • Working Legally and Ethically (as part of her Diploma of Counselling)

Alongside her professional credentials, Sharon brings lived experience of ADHD, PTSD, and years of supporting her late husband through complex mental health challenges. These life experiences deepen her empathy and shape her ability to create a truly inclusive, person-first environment.

Our Mission

To provide a safe, inclusive, and nature-based environment where children, adolescents, and adults can enhance their wellbeing, build confidence, strengthen core skills, and develop emotional regulation and self-awareness through meaningful, respectful connections with horses.

Our Values

Respect

We honour the unique needs, abilities, and experiences of every person and every horse. Our approach is grounded in mutual respect and understanding, not force or expectation.

Authentic Connection

We believe healing begins with connection, between human and horse, facilitator and client, and within oneself. All interactions are built on trust, consent, and clear, non-verbal communication.

Safety First

We provide a physically and emotionally safe space. All sessions are delivered with trauma-informed and neurodivergent-aware practices, ensuring that each participant feels seen, heard, and supported.

Inclusivity

Our programs are open to all, including individuals with cognitive, emotional, or behavioural challenges. We meet people where they are, without judgement, and adapt to their pace and comfort.

Lifelong Learning

We are committed to ongoing development in equine behaviour and human wellbeing. Curiosity and education guide our practice.

Compassion Through Experience

With lived experience of neurodivergence, mental health challenges, and caregiving, we bring empathy, patience, and real-world insight to everything we do.
